La Historia

Every cigar tells a story, and La Historia by E.P. Carrillo is a deeply personal narrative of the Perez-Carrillo family, paying homage to the women who have inspired the master blender himself, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. This exceptional cigar is more than just a blend; it’s a heartfelt tribute to Ernesto’s mother and daughter, depicted on the band, symbolizing the rich heritage and enduring legacy of the Perez-Carrillo family.

The artwork on the band is a poignant representation of Ernesto’s inspirations: his mother in the tobacco fields of Cuba and his daughter in his home of Miami, FL. These images encapsulate the journey of the Perez-Carrillo family from Cuba to the United States, symbolizing resilience, tradition, and the pursuit of excellence.

My first Carillo, will not be my last!

Draw and Burn

The draw is generally good, though some might find it slightly tight2. The burn is even, producing a firm, light-colored ash that holds well2. Despite the thick maduro wrapper, the cigar lights evenly and maintains a consistent burn throughout1.

Overall Impression

The E.P. Carrillo La Historia is a well-crafted cigar that offers a rich and satisfying smoking experience. Its complex flavor profile and solid construction make it a standout in the E.P. Carrillo lineup. While it may not be the most accessible cigar for beginners due to its intense smokiness and robust flavors, it is a rewarding choice for seasoned smokers looking for a consistent and flavorful smoke

Absolutely love this cigar! You guys never disappoint! I’ve enjoyed the whole line but the La Historia is special to me. Not only for flavor, performance, and construction but also the fact my first time smoking the La Historia was my first trip with my fiancé. It was at St Augustine FL.

Don't take our word for it

Achievements like this are the confluence of skill, talent and experience. In his 50-year career, Perez-Carrillo has owned factories big and small, worked for a major corporation, and has been making cigars on his own terms for the last decade. Now a two-time Cigar of the Year recipient, the man who’s done it all in the cigar business has just done it again.
