Cigars are a key part of the annual Els for Autism Pro-Am, created by pro golfer Ernie Els and Marvin R. Shanken, publisher of Cigar Aficionado. Cigar stations dot the course every year, supplying the players with ample smokes, and the cigar industry (just like the spirits industry) has always supported the event. At the last Pro-Am, in November, E.P. Carrillo Cigars was one of several cigar sponsors. Lissette Perez-Carrillo’s daughter Skye joined her at the event, and Skye was so taken by the charity that she inspired her family to launch a campaign to help raise additional money for Els for Autism. Between December 15 and January 31, the company donated 98 cents every time someone bought an E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel, in honor of the cigar’s 98-point-rating when it was named Cigar of the Year. Click here for more on the article.
